A PI test takes 10 minutes and DD up to 60 minutes. Speed the clock up to see the result sooner.

Try this

Press ON/OFF and turn the switch to a RISO voltage (250 V … 10000 V) or to 50V…10000V to set any voltage with F1.
Motor winding, good: switch to 5000V, F3 sets 10 min, then hold START 5 s. Use ×60. Read RISO, Ab1/Ab2 (or DAR/PI from MENU › Measurement settings).
MV cable: F2 sets Cx = 300 nF/km. After the test the meter shows C and the length L ≈ 227 m.
Transformer: measure, then tick the G lead. The surface leakage is bypassed and RISO rises.
Damaged cable at 5000V: HILE! stops the test. In the 🔥 burn-out position the test keeps running.
SV runs 5 voltage steps; DD charges, discharges and grades the insulation.
While high voltage is on the leads the orange H.V. lamp under F4 lights; after the test the screen shows Object discharging.
After a result press ENTER twice to save; read it back in MEM.
